THE BATTLE BEGIN
My accomplishment:
Last
week I was able to experience to monitor the grade 2 pupils of Lucban
Elementary School. I observed my cooperative to get an idea how to manage the
class and how to teach the pupils. Checked their quiz papers, seatwork and teach
the pupils an action songs to boost their attention or interest. I was able to
facilitate them while having their quiz and give some activities in terms of
reading.
I was able to come at the
school before the call time.
My significant experiences:
When
the right hand of the principal introduces me to my cooperative teacher, I feel
happy at same time I feel nervous but when we know each other, I feel
comfortable with her. She is accommodating and feels free to entertain any
questions about the lesson plan and suggest things on how can I execute a
lesson. She discuss to me about the next lesson that I must execute, show to me
the curriculum guide and the books needed in teaching.
The
Sincerity grade 2 pupils are mixed of fast learner and slow learner. Some pupils can read fast and some also need
a supervision to help them read. I encourage them to listen to the teacher
explanation so that they will know how to answer properly the questions. I go
around inside the classroom to monitor their answer and assist them if needed.
The
teacher has a concern about his/her pupils by asking the parent the reason of
their children why they were absent or late. Maintaining the parent–teacher
relationship for updating them about the grade or behavior of their children
inside the school campus.
One
of the grade 2 pupils said, she was hungry but no food to eat. I ask her why
she has no food, she answers me her mother has no money to buy food for them. From
that situation I realized that I must be thankful that my parent can provide my
needs. I realize that I must consume my money wisely and avoid buying those
unnecessary things that are not need. I must work hard to reach my goals as a
return to my parents sacrifice and their efforts for providing my needs.
As a
conclusion, in the public school where we can find the teacher who is
compassionate to teach the pupils despite of low salary. Teacher who is willing
to serve the society and help those pupils that cannot afford to study in
private schools, giving them an opportunity to finish their education.
My
insights:
My
intuition about the teacher attitude and knowledge, teacher create atmosphere
that is unthreatening to motivate those pupils to participate in the
discussion. There must be interaction between the teacher and pupils to create
a meaningful learning and come out with the output. The teacher builds the
potential of those pupils for the better society outcome.
The teacher
knows the background knowledge of the pupils to relate the topic to their real
life situation. The teacher adopts the 21th century skills to improve her
strategies or techniques in teaching. Teacher adjusts to the level of his/her
pupils. Ask question that promote their comprehension and higher thinking
order.
My
opinion about the techniques of the teacher, the teacher should not just stick
on the traditional way of teaching but also adopt the new strategies such as
use of the instructional materials or multimedia to sustain the interest of the
pupils.
My
perception about classroom: classroom is conducive for learning, clean, proper
arrangement of chairs and appropriate decoration. The illustration materials
must be used in teaching is suited for those pupils and can accommodate all the
pupils’ needs. (Inclusive)
I conclude that I must adopt positive ideas,
strategies or techniques that enhance my knowledge, skills or talent to create
a significant learning. “Good teacher share his/her new
strategies, ideas or talent to others.”
Problems:
Hard
in doing Ilocano lesson plan
Difficult
in managing the class in terms of noisy
Difficult
in maintain the interest of those pupils
The
pupils are not answering back the questions or raising question that is related
to the topic.
Solution:
Ask
some help of my friends who were expert of Ilocano dialog. To counter check my lesson
plans.
Do
some positive reinforcement such as add some puts to those quite pupils.
Do
some activities that catch the attention of the pupils or motivate them by
singing, role playing, and games or doing some puzzles.
Revise
the way how I ask question and encourage them to ask question through let them
formulate a question about the lesson before discussing it.
Goals
for next week:
To
proud and confident talk in front of the pupils and my cooperative teacher
To
have a successful demo teaching.
To
execute the lesson and appreciated by the pupils through their participation
To
submit a lesson plan.
To
come at the school before the call time.
