Teachers Day!!!
My accomplishment:
last
week, I was able to have my one demo teaching in mathematics and record their
quizzes, seat work and assignments. I monitor most of the time grade two pupils
because my cooperating teacher was sick last Tuesday until Wednesday.
We, practicums Played volleyball with the teachers of
Lucban unfortunately we lost the game but at least we enjoyed the Teachers day
and at the same time the sport feast.
My significant experiences:
last week I received a flowers, soap and candies or chocolates from my pupils.
It symbolized that I’m important to them and they treasure me as their teacher, ate or friend. From that incident, my
relationship with my pupils became closer but there is still a limitation. I
can help them if they are encountering problems in schools and if they don’t
understand something, I’m willing to help them.
I noticed that most of the
boys, they were not answering their sumative test. So I need to do more effort
for them. During their recess and lunch, I extent helping them and explaining
how to answered their quizzed, I let other pupils to help them also. From that
situation, they answer their own seat work or quizzes even though some
of their answered were wrong but at least they do their works. I need to do
more efforts in explaining the lesson and more strategies for them to pick up
the ideas or lesson for that day.
I practice them also that
every morning, break time, lunch time and dismissal they need to pray.
My insights:
Teacher must extent time for
those pupils needed his/her help or support. As one of the theories, pupils
need scaffolding after rendering help for them, let them do by their selves.
One of the strategies” the teacher do while the pupils just watch then let the
pupils do with the teacher after that let the pupils do by their own, the
teacher just watch.” From that strategy the teacher give support for the pupils
having hard time and giving opportunities to build their skills or enhancing
their talents.
The teacher also must build
a relationship with his/her co-teacher for sharing their strategies to each
other and peer teaching can also applicable. For the pupils to understand better
and become globally competences.
Teachers also need to
construct a relationship for his/her pupils. To implement non-threatening
atmosphere and to develop interaction among them. But the teacher must set a
limit for them and also know how his/her extend his/her help for them. To avoid
issues and maintain the professional as well.
Problems:
I didn’t have my
straight teaching and I just finished 20 lessons. I need more lesson to attain
the goal having 30 demo teaching.
Solution:
I ask my
cooperating teacher to give me more lesson and opportunity to have my straight
teaching next week. She approves my request, thanks to her for understanding me
and giving me a chance to finish the 30 demo teaching also the straight
teaching. She extends her help to me suggesting things and correcting my
objectives if it is suited to the topics. She give me ideas in order how to
demonstrate my lessons.
Goal for next week:
I need
to teach more 10 lessons and having straight teaching in order to attain the
goal. To fill up the differences form and able to finish all papers
requirement.
